Only reference I found to this is in the August 1983 3A Computer Products Catalog, page 106. There it is indicated that it sold for $470.
I have version 3.2, which comes with a preliminary manual. And two Aircraft Data disks, one for Cessna 185, one for Cessna Citation. The manual was just in a black binder. The disks were not clearly originals, but the operation was small enough they could have been. However, the $470 price tag suggests that they might have at least produced a more professional looking manual and labels. Hard to say.
Update: searching archive.org text for “flight opps” showed:
- chapter 21 of a 1985 book called “Microcomputers and Aviation” by Paul Garrison.
- Flying magazine Jun 1984, p 105. (This is a review of Weather Station, though, not of Flight Planner.)
- Bowker/Bantam 1984 complete sourcebook of personal computing
- The company had some ads in Computer Gaming World for a Screen Layout Worksheet they sell
- Listed in The Apple User’s Encyclopedia, p. 198. Along with a couple of other software titles.
- And in Vanlove’s 1983 software directory. Priced at $450.
